Universal Primary Education

Universal primary education is essential for the progress of our country.The following steps are to be taken to realize the objective of universal primary education.

Things should be done to Promote Education:

• Central and State governments should give more importance to realize the objective of

the universal primary education.

• Enrollment in the Schools must be made compulsory particularly among girls.

• Keep the children in schools.

• Reduce the drop out rate in primary schools and enhance the quality of school

education.

• Infrastructural facilities have to be improved.

Island groups of India

 

India has a number of Islands .In all India has 247 Islands of which 223 lie in the Bay of

Bengal and the rest in Arabian Sea.

➢ Indian Islands: The Indian Islands may be divided into four broad groups namely :

the Andaman group , the Nicobar group ,the Lakshadweep group ,and Other Islands.

 

 The Andaman Group : 

1.The Andaman Islands are located between 10 degree to 14 degree N latitudes.These

Islands are of Volcanic origin .There are as many as 200 Islands in the Andaman group.

They cover a total area of 6408 sq.km.

2.The Andaman Islands are a group of Indian Ocean archipelagic islands in the Bay of

Bengal, between the Indian peninsula to the west and Burma to the north and east.

3.  Most of the islands are part of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Union Territory of

India, while a small number in the north of the archipelago belong to Burma.
